BLUE EVENING SHADE

 This necklace started out as three beaded beads on a leather code. See below.

  My intentions was to create a necklace that could be worn night or day with ease. So I put the necklace aside, for months because the piece didn't feel finished.  The necklace would come to my mind every once and a while.  Then one day as I was sitting at my designing table it came to me that I had some large glass beads called Millefiori.
 Millefiori means many flowers in Italian. I became excited to see if they would work with the beaded beads. The two black beads were perfect, then I laid eyes on the yellow ones. I strung them on the cord with the black glass beads. Oh boy! Next it came to me to use the tear drop shaped blue glass beads of the same type.


I felt very happy, with the outcome.
I still needed a finish.
A book on contemporary beaded suggested that beads didn't have to start out with holes. Button could be used as clasps.
Looking through my large collection of buttons, I came upon a metal button with an orange glass center. The juices where flowing in my minds eye.
The button needed to be larger for the scale of the necklace. A blue lapis stone donut popped in my mind.
I decided to glue the donut onto the back of the button, and a clasp for the necklace came to life.

I AM ALL AROUND YOU

Like a cocoon of Light. My presence with you is a promise, independent of your awareness of Me. Many things can block this awareness, but the major culprit is worry. My children tend to accept worry as an inescapable fact of life. However,worry is a form of unbelief; it is anathema to Me.

A couple of days ago I was worried about this new policy at work ,not being paid for unplanned absents unless it's made up the same day. You see I needed to take my car for service at 10 am because the shuttle starts at 10 am, and pick up my sister from the  clinic at 2pm. I work till 4:30, I would not be able to make up the time.  I'd forgotten about the  appointment for the car because my husband had made the appointment. When I told him about my dilemma, he asked me what I was going to do.

Who is in charge of your life? If it's you, then you have good reason to worry. But since I'm in charge, worry is both unnecessary and counterproductive.

I read this passage and I realized I was worrying.

When you start to feel worry relinquish the situation to Me. I will either take care of it Myself or show you how to handle it.

I started saying to myself, God will work this out,over and over. I went down to the kitchen and my husband came into the kitchen and picked up the phone to call the dealer.

Someone came on the phone, he discussed the situation and was told the key could be dropped off there at 7am.  We drop off the car and I was at work on time. My sister got home on her own and I saw God's hand. I said to my husband that God worked it out. He said we worked it out. I said God use him to get things done. My husband said God wants us to work things out. WE agreed to disagree.

In this world you will have trouble,but you need not lose sight of me.

I had my locktechian help me take pictures of my hair being washed with the beaded beads still in.
To demonstrate the strength of the thread I use.

JESUS CALLING

Do EVERYTHING in dependence on Me. The desire to act independently-apart from Me springs from the root of pride.  Self-sufficiency is subtle, insinuating its way into your thoughts and actions without your realizing it.  But apart from Me. You can do nothing: that is nothing of eternal value. My deepest desire for you is that you learn to depend on Me in every situation. I move heaven and earth to accomplish this purpose, but you must collaborate with Me in this training. Teaching you would be simple if I negated your free will or overwhelmed you with My Power. However, I love you too much to withdraw the godlike privilege I bestowed on you as my image bearer. Use your freedom wisely, by relying on Me constantly. Thus you enjoy My Presence and My Peace.

OPIOID ADDICTION WORKSHOP

 The workshop was held at St Paul Baptist Church, 3101 The Alameda.

After the prayer said the speakers began.

The speaker Ms Tina, started with “do you have to have that Starbucks coffee or you don’t feel right?

Do you have to have the latest purse or do you have to go to the barber shop on a certain day, or you don’t feel right? That’s being addicted to something.

Most people in Baltimore associate addiction with Heroin addicts around Lexington market, and elsewhere, and you may not want to go anywhere near them.

Opioid addiction goes across all sociable and economical walks of life. She’s seen people with money and others that we would not think would become addicted to opioids.

 People may start out trying to relieve extreme pain, or psychological pain. First they may take one pill more than prescribe, then two because the feeling isn’t right, the next step is not being able to do without it.

The Ms Tina’s co-speaker showed us how to administer the nasal spray called NARCAN, this spray is for bringing someone back from an overdose.

We were told how to manage a person’s head and to place our shirt tail or some other cloth over the person’s mouth.

There was a great deal of information given, to help anyone, and their families.
