A PURPLE RIGHT ANGLE BEADED BEAD

 

So, I made this beautiful giant beaded bead on a whim. It's created with the right angle weave stitch. Accented with purple crystals and yellow-green beads. But I had no idea what to do with it - it just sat there, staring at me with its bead-y eyes. I tried adding some polymer clay and ceramic beads, but it just wasn't working. Then, a stroke of genius hit me: create some freeform beaded beads for a necklace. That's exactly what this big guy needed!

TURQUOISE THE COLOR IS THE NAME OF THE STONE

TURQUOISE A SEMI PRECIOUS STONE

Hi everyone, today I’d like to talk with you about Turquoise the lovely blue green stone.
It’s instantly recognizable and draws you into its vibrant color.  This stone is mostly associated with the American Indian, but turquoise was first mined in Ancient Egypt, around 3000 BCE. It was found on the mummified remain of Queen Zar of Egypt.
Turquoise a stone whose name is a color and a type of stone. What is Turquoise?  Put simply it's a combination of Copper, Iron, and Aluminum. Vivid blue is the result of high copper content. The softer green tones are the result of more iron present. Turquoise is known for the Matrix or veining running through it.  The veining is the result of water containing certain minerals and aluminum. The more copper the bluer the stone.
What is contained in the matrix or veining?
Black matrix=results in iron pyrite
Yellow matrix=the result of Rhyolite
Brown matrix= 16 different types of iron oxide

To get your mind back into gear, just turn to Me, bringing yourself and your problems into My Presence.

Many problems vanish instantly in the Light of My love because you realize you are never alone.

Other problems may remain but they become secondary to knowing Me and rejoicing in the relationship I so freely offer you. Each moment you can choose to practice My Presence or to practice the presence of a problem.

BLUE EVENING SHADE

 This necklace started out as three beaded beads on a leather code. See below.

  My intentions was to create a necklace that could be worn night or day with ease. So I put the necklace aside, for months because the piece didn't feel finished.  The necklace would come to my mind every once and a while.  Then one day as I was sitting at my designing table it came to me that I had some large glass beads called Millefiori.
 Millefiori means many flowers in Italian. I became excited to see if they would work with the beaded beads. The two black beads were perfect, then I laid eyes on the yellow ones. I strung them on the cord with the black glass beads. Oh boy! Next it came to me to use the tear drop shaped blue glass beads of the same type.


I felt very happy, with the outcome.
I still needed a finish.
A book on contemporary beaded suggested that beads didn't have to start out with holes. Button could be used as clasps.
Looking through my large collection of buttons, I came upon a metal button with an orange glass center. The juices where flowing in my minds eye.
The button needed to be larger for the scale of the necklace. A blue lapis stone donut popped in my mind.
I decided to glue the donut onto the back of the button, and a clasp for the necklace came to life.
